“A Promise Kept (Oath)” continues the journey of one of my personal favorite poems, “A Promise Kept,” by offering another sonic interpretation of a story centered around first love, memories, and the emotions that remain long after time has passed.
Originally introduced as the lead track from my “Volume Three” album, “A Promise Kept” has become a meaningful part of my musical collection. The release of “A Promise Kept (Oath)” represents one of three remake versions that revisit the same narrative while allowing each version to present its own musical identity.
Following the release of “A Promise Kept (Covenant)” as a standalone single in late 2025, “A Promise Kept (Oath)” continues the expansion of this story alongside “A Promise Kept (Pledge).” Together, these three remakes explore different perspectives of the same unforgettable journey, creating new ways for listeners to connect with the emotions behind the song.
At its core, “A Promise Kept” is a winter love story about a first love that never completely disappears. The story follows a man searching for someone who once held a special place in his heart, only to discover that she has moved forward and created a new life with a family of her own.
Despite the passage of years, some connections remain deeply rooted within the heart. Certain memories continue to endure, carrying the emotions of a bond shaped by fate, destiny, and moments that remain unforgettable. “A Promise Kept” explores the idea that some relationships may change with time, but the impact they leave behind can continue forever.
