Memories in Music and Ink
With the cardboard CD wallet edition of “Too Many Things Remind Me Of You,” I’m presenting the nine-track EP in a physical format that gives its artwork a different visual expression. The collection explores a familiar theme: how ordinary places, sounds, and moments can recall someone long after a separation.
These songs tell stories about memory and its unexpected appearances. A cup of coffee, laughter down a hallway, or a familiar melody can briefly bring the past into the present. Throughout the EP, those reminders sit alongside quiet acceptance and the hope that someone once loved has found happiness.
The CD includes five vocal versions and four accompanying instrumentals. The title track appears first, followed by “Déjà Vu,” “Echo,” “Reverie,” and “Memories.” Grouping the vocal tracks together before the instrumentals gives the collection a clear sequence, allowing listeners to explore its different versions and then revisit the music without the lyrics.
For this edition, I’m also offering a contrast to the Vinyl presentation. Where the Vinyl artwork uses a black background, the cardboard CD wallet transforms the image into an ink splash against white. The effect recalls a blank canvas waiting to be marked, with the artwork emerging through irregular edges and scattered ink.
That imagery connects naturally with the EP’s themes. Memories rarely return as complete, orderly scenes. They appear in fragments: a face, a place, a passing impression. The ink treatment gives those fragments a visual form, while the surrounding white space leaves room for reflection.
“Too Many Things Remind Me Of You” was created as part of the Volume Six album cycle. The complete “Volume Six (Evanescence)” album, a year in the making, is available digitally and physically on CD and Vinyl. The “Volume Six (Evanescence) Deluxe Edition” double-CD set follows on October 16, 2026.
With this CD wallet edition, I’m bringing the EP’s nine tracks and its reinterpreted artwork together in a compact physical release—another way to experience a collection about the traces people leave in familiar surroundings.
